All my life I’ve been interested in photography.  My first taste of SLR cameras came with a 35mm Canon TLB handed down to me by my Grandfather.  In those days it was totally manual, none of this automatic or semi automatic assistance.  You selected the speed of the film (ISO), the aperture and shutter speeds in an attempt to expose the perfect photo.  More often than not I’d be disappointed with the results as I expected the whole roll of film to produce perfect photos.  in reality, it doesn’t work like that.  If I was happy with half the roll that was a real achievement.  Of course with time the number of “keep” shots grew as I began to better understand how the camera worked.

With the dawn of Digital SLR cameras (DSLR) a lot of the guess work was removed.  Not only could the camera produce some pretty good shots in full auto mode but you could review the shots in the field using the LCD screen on the rear.  Add to this you’re not spending out money to develop photos to throw away, you print only your “keep” photos.

Nikon is now my camera of choice.  Both the wife and I preferred the ergonomics of the Nikon camera bodies.

Most of my work involves shooting in and around the Thurrock area where I was born and raised.  Of course there are some shots I took whilst abroad, St Lucia, Egypt and Turkey to name a few.

I designed this web site to share my work with others and make available for purchase some of my favourite prints.
